SENIOR LECTURER IN SPORT and EXERCISE BIOMECHANICS

Ginny is a lecturer in Sports Biomechanics and Performance Analysis. She completed her BSc (Hons) Sport Science and MSc Sport Science (Biomechanics) at Liverpool John Moores University, followed by a PhD at the same institution, which examined methodological considerations for measuring impact characteristics of different footwear conditions during running and cutting manoeuvres. After her PhD, Ginny spent 12 years in the applied environment, including working as a research consultant within the Centre for Human Sciences at Qinetiq Ltd, working on a number projects examining injury mechanisms in military populations. Prior to joining Liverpool Hope University, Ginny was employed by the English Institute of Sport for seven years, working with the Great Britain Canoe Sprint team, providing biomechanical and performance analysis support to Olympic athletes and coaches, with the highlight being the London 2012 Games.
