SENIOR PROFESSIONAL TUTOR

Honey is a a filmmaker with years of experience in the film industry. She specialises in the documentary field with an interest in projects and films with a strong social responsibility messaging. Her professional practice is entirely focused in community engagement, particularly in the context of equal opportunity and development for underrepresented, marginalised and minority demographics. 

Honey's training includes Filmmaking at MMU's School of Art, Documentary Filmmaking at the NFTS and the NW's Film Talent Development Programme by CreativeUK. Her work has been selected for the Next Doc Media Lab; has been screened nationally at the BFI's Future Film Festival and the Big BBC Screen; and internationally at the Made by Women International Film Festival (MAD) earning her numerous awards including a Royal Television Society Award. 

Honey has been working as a Film Lecturer for a number of years and is currently employed as Senior Professional Tutor in Film at Liverpool Hope University, teaching practical elements of Film & Visual Culture including Filmmaking Practice, Screenwriting, and Post-production. In the field of education, she has achieved the status of Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA)
Honey continues her film practice as a documentary director and producer. Her areas of research interest include film festival curation and exhibition; and the use of documentary filmmaking as a tool in Community Engagement in the Arts: designing, developing, delivering and project managing films, filmmaking workshops and masterclasses as a way to develop overlooked communities. Collaborations and commissions of film work include Being Human Festival, Society for the Study of Addiction, Everton in the Community, Big Local, Sharp Futures, FreshRB, My Space Housing Solutions, Sobriety Films, Scalarama and Small Cinema.
