SUBJECT LEAD AND SENIOR LECTURER

I gained my BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies from Liverpool John Moores University in 2004.  Throughout my degree I also worked as an outreach worker with disabled young people and through this developed a particular interest in the health and wellbeing of chronically ill and disabled young people.  I was awarded my Doctorate from LJMU in 2008 for my thesis on the transition to adulthood for young people with cystic fibrosis.  My research was carried out in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Department at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.  Following a short spell working as a research assistant I moved to Liverpool Hope in 2009 to take up the position of Lecturer in Health.  I am based within the multidisciplinary Department of Health Sciences.  I currently teach across all levels of the BSc Health Pathway and also contribute to the BSc Health, Nutrition and Fitness and the MSc Health, Exercise and Nutrition.  My current research interest is looking at the transition to adulthood for young people with Downs Syndrome.
