LECTURER IN SPORT and HEALTH SCIENCE

I am a Lecturer in Sport and Health Science within the School of Health and Sport Sciences. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Bangor University in 2008, followed by a Master’s Degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology in 2009. I then pursued a PhD from 2010 to 2014, investigating metabolic adaptations at both the whole-body and cellular levels in response to changes in nutrient availability and energy demand. My doctoral research focused on the effects of various lifestyle interventions, manipulating diet and exercise, on key metabolic factors involved in energy balance and bodyweight regulation.

In 2016, I joined Liverpool Hope University as part of a postdoctoral fellowship, where I led a large-scale project examining the multifaceted health benefits of tennis, including its impact on cardiometabolic, musculoskeletal, nutritional, and psychosocial health. In 2018, I transitioned to a full-time lecturing position, where I continue to expand my expertise in both teaching and research, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal and metabolic health throughout the lifespan.
