ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (CREATIVE CAMPUS)

I studied Art History and Italian in Berlin (Germany) and Siena (Italy) and gained my BA, MA and PhD from the Free University Berlin. After working in museums in Berlin and New York, I joined Liverpool Hope University from Cardiff University in 2011.

My recent research consists of two main strands. On one side, the exploration of Northern European ecclesiastical art work from the late medieval and early modern period and its role and function within a variety of communities. On the other side, the investigation of movement and migration of visual artists in the early modern period. I recently developed the artist-migration-model (AMM) (Wagner 2017) and I am currently preparing a publication on Wenceslaus Hollar as a migrant artist, outsider and observer of Englishness.
